Masculine Cards with Altenew

When I think of Altenew, I think of floras and elegance.  I don't think masculine at all.  When I saw the Weave Builder Stencil, I knew I had a chance of making those difficult masculine cards.

It took a couple of tries to make figure out which way to flip the stencil to make the pattern.  I first started with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Lucky Clover.  I kept it simple so I could learn how to use the stencil.  You do have to position the stencil so that the two colors touch.  My first try is above and you can see that there is a gap.  It still looks great.

Then I decided to step it up a little.  I started the same and ink blended the first color.  I can't remember if this was Cracked Pistachio or Lucky Clover.   Then I pulled out the neglected Embossing Paste.  I used my Distress Ink refill in Peacock Feathers to color the white paste.  If you are not familiar with the paste, there is a video below that shows how I did it.

Not long ago I made this card and I loved the color combination so I thought I would use it again.

For my final card, I created a different design by repositioning the stencil in a different direction.  All of the cards have the Altenew Script Words 2 die and the Birthday Builder stamps.

I couldn't resist and had to add some Little Things by Lucy Abraham's Lime Jewels.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Let me know if you struggle with masculine cards or if you have to add sparkle to your cards no matter who the card is for.

    1. We work so hard to get a head tilt and a nice job. Then they drop it on the table and move on. Little do they know we steal the card back and enjoy it for ourselves.

  2. These are such fantastic masculine cards. The added colour to the embossing paste is always a great idea, love the dimension it gives.
