Honey Bee

Hi Everyone!  It has been a while since I have posted a card.  Sorry for the absence.  Things have been a little crazy around here.  Today, we have an awesome collaboration with Honey Bee Stamps.

The first time I looked at the Zen Floral Stamp set, I knew exactly what I wanted to make.  I used the Creative Corners to bump out my cardstock so that I could stamp the image off the edge. After I stamped on the one side, I rotated my cardstock so that I can have a mirror image.  I used various colors of Copic Markers.

Once I was done coloring the flowers, I used a couple of light Blue Green markers for the background.   When all that coloring was done, I over-stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and used clear embossing powder.
For the sentiment I used the large Thanks die.   I cut it out several times and layered them.  The very top layer was cut with glossy black cardstock from Ellen Hutson.

For our giveaway, please leave a comment on each of the blogs listed below.  The prizes will be for a Honey Bee Gift certificate and a MISTI (choice of Mini or Original).  The winner will be posted on our Giveaway Winners page on April 7, 2017.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!
Hugs,
Iliana

Team Tuesday-Love Always with Ilina Crouse

Hi Stampers!
Ilina's here today. I am guest designing for Concord and 9th this month, so I decided to share a card using the new Faith and Love bundle. The Lily set is amazing and it's perfect for coloring.
Using my MISTI (original) I stamped the images in two corners using Hero Arts Intense black ink, then colored with the Tonal grey Copic markers. Next I added the second layer with Papertrey ink Harvest gold ink pad, to add a little color pop.
I wanted my images to be nice and intense black, so after coloring the lilies, I put my panel back in my MISTI and stamped over (I didn't remove the stamp from the previous step) with Versafine Onyx Black ink then embossed with clear embossing powder. This allowed me to achieve more texture and dimension to my card.
Next I stamped the sentiment onto black card stock and embossed with white embossing powder.
Watch the video below to see how I made the card from start to finish :) Enjoy!

Team Tuesday - Giovana Smith

We first met our next designer, Giovana, on Splitcoast. Her incredibly artistic work got her a spot on the Dirty Dozen design team, and she has an incredible portfolio of beautiful cards. A kind spirit and a great sense of humor make her the perfect addition to our team. We know you will love getting to know her and her work, so here she is in her own words.

Hello everyone!! I am Giovana Smith, born and raised in Lima, Peru. I have always loved any type of craft. Learned to knit and cross stitch at a very young age, then thanks to my mom I learned the basic of sewing, just little scraps of fabric, a needle and thread and I was a happy camper making dresses for my dolls. Moving forward, it was 2006, I didn't have time to cross stitch anymore since my little girl was into everything, that Summer I needed a card for a Baby Shower but didn't have time to go to the store so I took one of the little cross stitch squares I had and cut cardstock with my fabric scissors (oh my!) and I made a card!! After that, I started checking online if cardmaking was "a thing" and I found Splitcoaststampers and the rest is history.  I've been paper crafting since, I have learned techniques, tricks and much more, I don't have just one style, I like to explore into different things.  I am so excited to be part of My Sweet Petunia team and share with you guys different techniques using the wonderful MISTI and Creative Corners.

Details about this card.

I love this stamp from Impression Obsession, it is a big stamp so I really needed my MISTI to have a perfect impression, no more wasting paper!  I stamped the images a couple of stamps in Versamark Ink, then colored it with markers, it was trimmed to fit an A2 size card. The graded paper also helped me to add the die-cut sentiment perfectly straight.
You can visit my blog "Believe" for more projects and inspiration Thanks so much again for stopping by and I can't wait to share more projects with you!

Team Tuesday Guest Post - Maureen Wong

I remember thinking when I first started to see Maureen's videos - "that girl is a GENIUS." The tricks she came up with with the MISTI just blew everyone's mind. She has a really unique ability to use this tool in unusual and creative ways. Her sweet, soft voice in her videos is so pleasant to listen to, and her ability to plan incredible projects and techniques and create beautiful cards with them is something we all admire.

Maureen joined us in our first ever CHA booth, and is a joy to be around. Here she is in her own words:

Hi all!  My name is Maureen and I’m so thrilled to be designing for My Sweet Petunia!!  I am a mother of 2 wonderful boys and work full time in a dental clinic.  I enjoy stamping, cross-stitching, and playing video games!  Another hobby of mine is buying craft supplies!  I hope I can inspire you to create with your MSP goodies and TFL!

Team Tuesday Guest Post - Maria Sabina

Today is Team Tuesday! Before I introduce you to Maria, I wanted to tell you that the interview I did for the So Suzy podcast is up this morning here. Or you can listen via the embedded player below. Her podcasts are super informative - be sure and check out past episodes.

I had admired today's team member for years before asking her to be on our team. She lives in Romania, and is one of those rare hybrids of an incredible scrapbooker and an incredible cardmaker.

She wasn't able to join us in Phoenix, but we hope to have her at another event in the future so you can see her work in person.

Here she is in her own words:

"Hello to you all. I'm Maria Sabina , a young crafter from Romania. I love doing a bit of everything. From cardmaking, to sewing, cooking and other crafts. When I don't feel like doing any of that, then I like to explore new places, watch movies or do my nails. I don't really show this in my work, but I am a big fan of the Victorian era and vintage things. If you have a small crafty stash or corner like me, try to experiment and mix the old things with the new ones for great results."

Hello there! Maria Sabina over here. I hope you have a wonderful day! I don't know about you, but I definitely had a big problem wasting paper and ink, before using the wonderful MISTI. Well not anymore. I can finally enjoy stamping on another level and also save materials.

For today, I made a simple yet colorful card, using the Creative Corners along with the Original MISTI. Sadly, I don't have a video for today's card, but I promise to make one in the near future. The Creative Corners are really great. You are going to love them.

I hope you get inspired to use your colorful inks, mix the new and old stamps to create new beautiful cards. I had a great time stamping the background for this card, with the help of MISTI.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
