Hey everyone! Lydia here with a guest post today and a very special blog hop with the Pink & Main team!
I love the quirkiness of their stamp sets - it's right up my alley. Their Llamas set made me literally laugh out loud the first time I saw it, and I knew it had to be mine. I think there must be llama social media - because everyone is always saving the drama for their llamas - how could they be so dramatic without the llama equivalent of Facebook? :)
Anyway, I took the dramatic llama from the set and colored it with what I call "cartoon" coloring - where I just make my shadows with solid lines, and not blended ones. This gives it a crisper, more cartoonish look - a little tip I picked up from my sweet friend Anna Wight. That also makes it much quicker to color, and I'm all about that, since my watercolor cards (like the one I did today) take me up to 8 hours to complete. That's right - I'm completely insane. But I do enjoy the process of watercolor. With markers, I like it to be quick and bright and happy, so I do my cartoon thing.
Besides - that llama is sooooo filled with DRAMA! :) I cut him out with the matching dies, and just did some simple framing with patterned paper, that I cut to leave a gap to the card base for the sentiment.

Isn't that fun? The other llamas in the set are adorable as well.
So today we have a blog hop with the Pink & Main team - I can't wait to see what everyone has done!
Comment on each stop on the hop by April 1st to be entered to win a shopping spree from our store or one from Pink & Main!
Enjoy the inspiration on each blog below!

ReplyDeletelove this card! just soooo cute! I Love the Misti and had a chance to use one at a friends and would love to own one but I am disabled due to a drunk driver hitting me head on. Living on a disability income makes it quite hard to afford my luxuries. HAHAHA. One day I hope to buy this wonderful tool! It is on my wish list! It would sooo help me since I do not have the strength to stamp as hard as I need to in my arms to make a crisp outline . This would let me go over my stamp as many times as I need to. Oh what a dream tool this is to me! Thank you for making it ! Can't wait to one day own it! Bless you!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you
ReplyDeletecolored the Llama.
