I saw In Praise of Sunflowers stamp from Power Poppy, I knew I wanted try no line watercoloring. I went to YouTube and looked up Kristina Werner. She makes everything look so achievable. I watched he video a couple of times as well as a couple other videos.
First, I stamped the sunflower in Antique Linen. I did the center in Wild Honey Distress ink. For the watercolors, I used my Mission Gold watercolor set. The sentiment was stamped with Papertrey Dark Chocolate ink. There is a long video at the end of this post.
Now for the Giveaway. Leave a comment on each blog for your chance to win. There are two $25 gift certificates to Power Poppy and a MISTI (your choice of a Mini or Original). The winners will be announced on the Giveaway Winners page. Here is a list of the other blogs on the hop.

Beautiful! I'm a total Misti fan-freak! I had abandon rubber stamps and gone digital until this tool was introduced to me...now, digital feels like merely coloring.

Fantastic job no-line coloring the Sunflower! I watched the video and felt your pain with the leaves! There were several times that I thought you got the leaves perfect! I've just started the no-line technique with Prismacolor pencils and Copic Markers and it is nerve racking I agree. But, your Sunflower was stunning!
ReplyDeleteStupendous - you did this perfectly! Thank you for bringing us the MISTI!!!
ReplyDeleteWow ! This is beautiful but I am not quite ready for the no line coloring even thought I love the way it looks. I have played with the Power Poppy's no line digi stamps and find them hard to do but have not given up on it
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous!! Simple, yet gorgeous!! Your no-line coloring is fabulous; would never have guessed that this was the first time! And I sooooo NEED a MISTI!!

ReplyDeleteNew technique for me, must give it a try! Really beautiful card. So enjojoyed this Blog Hop. Beautifully done cards and lots of creative ideas! Did have trouble posting a comment on a couple. Never did see publish but hope they saw. Thanks for all the inspiration!

ReplyDeleteI learned so much by watching you struggle with those leaves! They turned out great in the end! Thank you so much for sharing your process!
ReplyDeleteYour card is just beautiful and so good to see you didn't give up, it turned out perfect! I may even give it a try, I did no line coloring with markers a few times I didn't care for it, maybe I will like watercolor :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! Your coloring is awesome. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous beauty!
ReplyDeleteI love the no-line technique, and the few times I've been brave enough to attempt it, I also used antique linen distress ink; like you I think mine needs re-inking. Don't know why I drag my feet on utilizing the reinkers!!!
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job with it! What a labor of love it was!
Lynn Mathers
I love this simple beautiful card. I love the sunflowers. I've really enjoyed this blog hop. I've learned several new things. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, your sunflower is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely colouring. My MISTI is very much loved and taken with me even on holiday :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. Your watercolouring is fabulous. Thank you for the chance to win a Misti
ReplyDeleteNo-line watercoloring is truest to the real watercolor look, with a little help from our stamps. Yours is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, love your no-line coloring.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! Get put of here!!! This is amazingly good!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous hop!
ReplyDeleteI left comments at all except Julie's blog. It looks like would have to sign up for google+ or something to leave a comment and having problems doing that. All the other blogs I was able to just leave a comment without any additional steps.
Your card is very lovely. The coloring is perfect, reflecting colors and shading. Kristina is awesome. You're right, I always feel like I can do the impossible when she shows me in her very helpful videos.
Thank you for offering such fabulous prizes!
And offering such talented women to highlight on this awesome hop. I enjoyed each stop. Thank you.
Simple, but beautiful card. I've had a blast visiting all of the blogs and will be returning to see what you all do next.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a fan of no line coloring but this is stunning. Loved the blog hop as there are some fabulous ideas here. For some reason though I can't comment on Lydia Fiedler's blog. Hope I can still have a chance at the MISTI. After seeing these creation, I need one!
ReplyDeleteThe sunflower stamp is beautiful! This has been a nice break for my Sunday afternoon. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I want to try this technique, but looks too intimidating. You did an amazing job. Now I want this stamp set. Love the MISTI. I have multiples and can always use more. 😂
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely, I'm not a big fan of no line colouring, I must say, but I love your card and the way the image turned out!
ReplyDeleteYour card came out beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job, and under the toughest of circumstances... the distress ink being uncooperative and you had the camera rolling, and yet you did great!!! Guess it can't be as bad as I thought it would be. That said, I think I will try to find either an easier or smaller image to be my trial run! And no camera to witness the carnage! LOL :-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome job with the stunning sunflower. I've seen some new techniques for the Misti. I have yet to abstain one .they are crazy expensive here in Canada. And the exchange is still too high.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I really would love to own a Misti.....hopefully soon I will be able to afford one! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi lliana!! I know you from way back when the Misty was just heading out - I'm still using this amazing creation of yours these years later - can't remember exactly how many years. But it's from the days of someone trying to recreate the Misty and I emailed you. Anyway, the "big guys" have all tried to emulate you and create their own version - but it's exactly like I said then - The Original is the BEST! It's two years ago, I just checked my emails! I will be adding the scrapbook size and corners to my collection and pray you continue to create very useful tools, always, Denise BTW: You card is lovely, and you added some sweet sunshine to the crafting community, thanks IIiana.
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy card. Love the sunflower.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Your sunflower is gorgeous! Beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteWhat can be said about this beautiful work of art!!? No words to do it justice, thats for sure...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful water color card!
ReplyDeleteI love that you looked up Kristina Werner for some no line watercoloring techniques. She colors beautifully! You did a good job also. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful! I would love to no-line watercolor, but so far I've been too chicken to try! I did see on this hop that you can go back and stamp the outline over your watercolor image for more definition if necessary. Being afraid that my image would look like a blob has kept me from doing it, but now that I know the MISTI can save me (again!!!) I'm going to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteWoW!! I have never tried the no line technique, you make it very intriguing and attainable!! This turned out beautiful and I'm looking forward to giving it a try!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou are too hard on yourself! You did a fantastic job on this. I have attempted no-line watercoloring and whew! That is definitely something that needs a lot of practice! Your card is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove sunflowers, TFS.
ReplyDeleteLove sunflowers and yours if just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery cute card! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletePower Poppy and the Misti are both the best. Would love to be a winner.
ReplyDeleteWow, Iliana, I LOVE your card! This is a perfect image to do no-line watercoloring, and I loved the video...and appreciated your sharing the issues with the leaves. But it ended up beautifully done! Simply wonderful, and I absolutely love my MISTI and Mini MISTI and Creative Corners. What did we do without it? I love it and thank God for you! Hugs! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful sunflower! Thanks for sponsoring this fun hop!
ReplyDeleteI don't care for sunflowers in real life. I'm actually scared of them. Silly, I know. The way you painted these, though, are absolutely beautiful! I'm gonna watch you video, then go watch Kristina Werner's. I must learn this technique. Thank you for your generosity in this blog hop!
ReplyDeleteYou cannot go wrong with Kristina W. I love the Misti. The creative corners look awesome. Who knows, maybe I can win....
ReplyDeleteI love your no line water coloring. The sunflower is the star of the show. I must tell you that I use my Misti every time I make a card. Thanks for inventing it. Some of the bloggers showed us some new ways to use it and I can't wait to try them.
