Hey everyone! We have a triple threat here today with Lydia, Iliana and Ilina to help celebrate the Altenew 4th anniversary.
At My Sweet Petunia, we love and respect our friends at Altenew, and could not be more excited to help wish them a happy anniversary today! We remember with fondness when Altenew came out of the gate with incredibly unique designs, and can't believe how time has flown!
We have done our best to hit the high points of Altenew's uniqueness today, and have each chosen products that point to some of their unique styles - so enjoy!
First up - Iliana, with what Altenew has always been known for - stunning florals! Look at this bold, graphic rose! This is one of their incredible layering stencil sets called Watercolor Bouquet.
To preserve the color in the floral image, she embossed it with a sparkly embossing powder before ink blending the blue background.
Next up - Ilina Crouse.
Lydia here. I fell in love with Altenew's modern art sets from day 1. They've always settled into that part of my heart reserved for all the amazing museums I used to go to when I lived in New York. There's something New York-y about their approach to some of their more graphic sets, so that's what I chose today.
An ink blended background really makes the scene pop.
To preserve the color in the floral image, she embossed it with a sparkly embossing powder before ink blending the blue background.
Here's a video of how she made this beautiful card.
|
Hi everyone, it's Ilina and I have a card to share and a little review (in the video) of the Mini Blossom die cutting machine. For my card I used the Peony Build-a-flower stamps and dies, and using my MISTI I stamped the flowers and leaves, die cut them and set them aside. I die cut the Layered Madallions A from black card stock and adhered to my black card base. When dry, I arranged the flowers and adhered. Stamped the sentiment on black card stock and embossed with Detail white embossing powder. To finish off my card I added white Nuvo Crystal drops , sparkle pen and some Crystal Lacquer on the flowers.
Watch the video below to see how this card came to be.
I started with watercolor paper and two of my favorite Altenew sets - Bad Days Happen and Coffee With a Splash. I stamped the images in black, and then just did loose watercolor washes in the background, and used those same colors with more intensity on the cup, leaving a little white space for highlights. I think we can all agree that coffee makes everything better. Or if you're me - coffee OR tea - I love both.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards ladies I love how each one is so different and unique. MISTI is my go to product for just about every project and my blocks are cozy in a corner but they are happy. I was ready to quit stamping altogether at one point because I was making invites to a baby shower and would have a perfect stamp outside just to mess up on the inside and I was done. I did not stamp anything else until I got the MISTI and then I was a crazy card lady for a bit.
