Team Tuesday - with Jordan Hansen

Step into a little paper magic with today’s project from design team member, Jordan Hansen of Jordan’s Easy Entertaining! In this post, Jordan walks us through the creation of a whimsical, nature-inspired shaker card that’s full of texture, sparkle, and charming details. Using the Hero Arts Tranquil Terrarium Card Kit along with some of her favorite My Sweet Petunia tools and techniques, she transforms ink, cardstock, and embellishments into a dreamy “glass-like” terrarium scene that truly comes to life when shaken. If you love interactive cards, beautiful coloring, and thoughtful finishing touches, you’re going to be completely enchanted by this one.

Hi, it's Jordan here from Jordan's Easy Entertaining. Today I'm sharing with you a super fun and whimsical shaker card with you.

To make this card, I used the stamps and coordinating dies from the Hero Arts Tranquil Terrarium Card Kit of the Month. First, I started by stamping the large image using Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink in my Mini MISTI.

I used alcohol markers to color the image and then cut out the design with the coordinating die in my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine.

I wanted the background of my card to look glasslike, so I purposely did very splotchy ink blending with Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Pool.

Next, I cut a brown panel of cardstock to an A2 size and used the terrarium shaped die from the set to cut out a window.

I ran that same panel through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 using a woodgrain embossing folder to add some fun texture.

Then I used my Precision Glue Press (my FAVORITE tool in my craftroom) to add acetate to the back of that window panel.

I glued my colored image to the ink blended panel and then added foam tape around the edge to create the base for my shaker card.  Then I added some small beads and chunky glitter.

I also stamped my sentiment with clear embossing ink in my Mini MISTI before heat embossing with a gold embossing powder and cutting it out with the coordinating die.

I put my card together and added the sentiment straight onto the window, but I felt like this card was missing something......

I stamped, colored and cut out a few more elements to add to my card.

Final step was using my MISTI Lite and Petunia Platform to stamp a sentiment on the inside of my card as well.

Thank you so much for joining me for today's card tutorial, and if you want to see this magical shaker card in action, pop on over to my Instagram.  Hope you have a great day and take care!
