March is finally bringing a bit of warmth around here and I am here for it!
Today I’m sharing one of my favourite ways to use my My Sweet Petunia Platform and magnets. It’s been a total game changer for journaling with wet inks and ink swatching. No more chasing my journal around the desk while I’m trying to create — everything stays perfectly in place.
For this little spread I pulled out my Archer & Olive journal, my new Wearingeul glass pen, and some fun ink samples from Goulet Pens. There’s something so satisfying about swatching inks and seeing all the colours come to life on the page.

ReplyDeleteI need more information. Why does her journal move so much? I see the magnets, but not the platform...what did she do with it? Was she just holding the book open with the magnets?

DeleteIt is not so much that my journals move around, however all of my journals are hardcover and when working with wet mediums, it is really helpful to have the magnets hold my pages down. I don't end up inadvertently smudging my inks and gives me some piece of mind when working. I have found it to be very helpful with watercolouring in my journals also.
DeleteIf you have ever wanted to create a mood board style notebook with colors of wet ink, you realize that it is difficult to keep the pages from flipping closed. The magnets holding the journal open by virtue of the platform which will free up your hands and give you the opportunity to create unhindered by the fear of your pages getting inked together forever because the page slipped free and closed over your wet ink. YES she is JUST HOLDING THE BOOK OPEN WITH THE MAGNETS but the result is FREEDOM.
ReplyDeleteExactly - freedom! It has been so lovely to have this option as I create with watercolours and other inks. I don't have to worry about the pages closing on me as I work and no more smudges!
