Be Kind

Hi crafty friends, Sandi MacIver here with a new card share for you today created with the Be Kind stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamp.

I started by placing a piece of Neenah Desert Storm card stock 4 x 5-1/4" into my Misti, tucked tight into the bottom left corner, and stamping the main image very lightly with black ink.
Important - Don't remove the stamp from the Misti.

The Neenah Desert Storm card stock as a beautiful smooth finish and is a dream to color on.

Next, I colored the image with my Prisma Color pencils in:
White,
Lavender,
Lilac
Parma Violet and
Dahlia Purple.

Once I finished coloring I placed my card front back into the Misti in exactly the same spot.  This time inking the stamp with VersaMark Ink and black heat embossing over my image.

Doing the embossing after I color allows me to color right up to the edge of the image without leaving a little halo effect you often get when you emboss first.

Next I placed my card front back into the Misti and used one of the other stamps in the set to add a little "background noise" in black ink.  I used a large Post It Note to Mask off my coloring by die cutting it with the coordinating die.

I added white splatter with diluted Winsor & Newton Gouache before adding a few drops created with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black.

I wrapped some burlap twine around the bottom of the card before adding my sentiments.

Finally, I created two sentiments from the stamp set, one in coordinating purple, and the larger in black, embossing them both in white.

The sentiments are popped up with small pieces of foam tape to add dimension to the card as is the card front before I attached it to my A2 sized base.

Team Tuesday with Ilina: Happy Everything

It's Ilina taking over the My Sweet Petunia blog today for another installation of Team Tuesday.

For my card today I used some of The Ton new release goodies: Large Florals Peonies and Fill in Sentiments. 

To make the card start by stamping the peonies using your MISTI. Tip:While I had my all stamp layers positioned in my MISTI I stamped bunch of flowers and leaves. I used my Scan n Cut to cut them out since there are no coordinating dies. Also you can hand cut them since they are large and have nice round lines around. 

Once you have everything ready  adhere 2 of the peonies and 4 of the leaves onto a 4" x 5 1/4" panel made from white card stock using foam squares.

Next I stamp  the large sentiment using my MISTI and watermark ink  onto platinum vellum. Emboss in white, then I stamp the smaller fill in sentiment and repeat the process. Trim to size and assemble the card.

Rainbow Foliage Hello

Hello friends! It's Channin here and today I have a sweet and simple rainbow card to share!

To create this card, I first positioned the wreath stamp from the Delicate Wreath Stamp Set from Pinkfresh Studio in my MISTI. I then inked the stamp up with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, but only about a third of it and then stamped it on an A2 panel of white cardstock. I then slid my panel up inked up the same third of the stamp with Picked Raspberry and then stamped. I repeated the process for several other colors of ink till I had a complete rainbow. However, I did have to reposition my stamp once while I was creating my rainbow when I ran out of room to slid my panel up.

Once I finished stamping my rainbow I then die cut "hello" from an panel of white cardstock using the Kelly Alpha Lower Case dies. I then trimmed my rainbow panel down 1/8" on the top and bottom sides of the panel and then adhered it onto an A2 top-folding card base turned on its side. Next, I added foam squares to the backside of my "hello" panel and then adhered the panel onto my card front.

Migration of Beauty

Hello everyone!  It has been a long time since I have made a card.  The holidays have taken up most of my time.  Things are still busy with Creativation coming this week.   I am still hanging in there with everything.
