Merry Christmas

I get ambitious with my time.  In my mind, I can get so much done.  Then, life happens.  I used to have anxiety when it came to getting things done.  A voice of reason once told me to ask myself why does that make me anxious.  Let me give you an example.  This time of year, I would typically get anxious about getting Christmas cards done.   I am not anxious about it this year.

The world will not end if I don't get my Christmas cards done.  It just means that my mailing lists gets cut down.  I usually make about 100 cards for myself and 100 for the church.  Reality is, most people will toss the card at the end of the season.

I was super ambitious with my time on making a lot of this simple card.   Then after I was done with everything, I figured out that I could use pattern paper to save time.  If I get in a pinch and need more cards, this will be fast.

Just keep in mind that if you skip the background stamping and use pattern paper, it will save time.  Plus, you can use all that left over paper from Christmas past.

Thanks for stopping by.....

Thankful for the MISTI

Happy almost Thanksgiving Day!   Today's blog hop is the brainchild of Lydia.  We will be sharing why we are thankful for the MISTI.

I am so thankful that the MISTI has given me the opportunity to share my card making with everyone.  It has brought so many people into my life.  So, I guess I should say that I am most thankful for the MISTI for all the new friends I have made.

I feel like MISTI has allowed us to share or gift and love of card making with others.  Every time a MISTI helps make a card, a recipient  smiles and receives a little bit of joy and a whole lot of love.

For my card today, I used the Circle Doodle background stamp from Simon Says Stamps.  I embossed it with Hero Arts Copper embossing powder.  Then I just water colored it.  The Grateful die cut was made with a Simon Says Stamp die.

As part of our blog hop we will be choosing one winner.   The winner will get a choice of an Original or Mini MISTI.  They will also get a second MISTI for someone they are grateful for.   To participate in the giveaway, just leave a comment on all the blogs in the hop by Sunday.  Winners will be posted on the Giveaway Winners tab on this blog on Monday.

Here are the other stops on out Thankful Blog Hop.   Don't forget to leave a comment letting us know who you are grateful for.

More Stencils and MISTI: String of Lights

I am really loving the Tonic Nuvo Glimmer Paste.  I created another stencil.  This time I used Tim Holtz Masking Sheets.  You can use a mylar or Dura-lar sheets like in my last post, maybe even an acetate sheet.  The Tim Holtz Masking Sheets felt thicker.

I used traditional colors at first and then started to play with all the other colors.  I loved the pink.  I hope they come up with more colors.   Next, I plan to add a drop of similar re-inker to create deeper hues of the same color.

Once everything is set up, this is a really quick but messy card to mass produce.   I hope you enjoy the video below.  I hope that you are getting all your Christmas cards done.
