Seasons Givings


Happy New Year! Today I'm participating in the Seasons Giving blog hop. This is the fifth year of the hop, which is just a way for companies and bloggers to say thank you for all of you who visit us. I am sponsoring the hop with a MISTI giveaway (the original size), so leave me a comment on this post for your chance to win! You can comment through January  5th at noon central to be eligible.

Now on to my card!


I made this Card with the Stampin' Up Wonderland stamp.  It was in the Holiday catalog from last year. I don't think it is available right now.  Sorry, I didn't realize that until after the card was done.  However, I am sure there are plenty of tree stamp sets that can be substituted. 

I stamped the trees with Lawn Fawn Noble Fir ink.  After I stamped it, I cleaned off my stamp and then repeated using Versamark ink.  Then, I used clear embossing powder to seal in the color.   The clear embossing powder sealed in the stamped image so that I could use various distress inks to create my back ground. 

Once I placed my panel on my card base, I found a moon left over from this card.  I made it for that card and didn't use it.  The video here shows how I made it.

    Great video tutorial on making a outdoor background. I would love to win a misty because I don't have one and see how great they are. No more throwing away cards because something didn't stamp right. Happy New Year!

    I just love, love, love my MISTI, it is the most used tool in my card making. It is well used and so useful in all aspects of stamping. I demonstrated it to some of my stamping friends and now they use it all the time too. Yes there are other trees but that one by SU is really neat. I have been trying to buy it but have not had any success yet. Thank you for a great, well made, useful tool! Happy New Year.
