Team Tuesday Guest Post - Ceal Pritchett

It's Team Tuesday again, and we are happy to be introducing you to Ceal Pritchett. If you've ever met Ceal in person, you know her sweet southern drawl is beyond charming, and if you haven't met her - you need to! Ceal is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator as well as an experienced design team member. Her colorful and airy style and her kind heart are why she is on our team. Here she is in her own words.

My name is  Ceal Pritchett and currently reside in the Smoky mountains of western NC,  I say currently  because my husband's company likes to move us around. My very supportive husband and I are empty-nesters, except for our fur baby Willis, a Shih Tzu who is more spoiled than the children were. We  share 3 children and one gorgeous perfect granddaughter and a grandson on the way.

I have been crafting since childhood, crafts was always my favorite at church or school. My mom always told me  as a child I would rather color on a rainy day when we couldn't go outside to play than watch TV, the same hold true today, I love to color and craft.

My style is clean and simple and you can find me  and my work on my blog  Simply Beautiful  or over on Instagram as Cealp.

I am so blessed to be part of this amazing team that represents the most amazing stamping tool ever invented. The MISTI has truly changed the way I stamp and how much I stamp. How did I ever stamp without it??

Hey Ya'll !
I am so blessed to be a part of Team Misti, this tool totally changed my relationship with stamps. It has also saved me lots of frustration. I would finish my card and go to add the greeting and stamp it crooked or not dark enough and I don't know about you but clear stamps or not, I could not line it up to over stamp it to make it darker.
I love my Misti! If I were told I that I could only keep one crafting tool, it definitely would be the Misti, no question about it.
Before the Misti was invented I had also quit buying layering stamps because I just could not get them to work for me, the Stamp-a-jig was my worst enemy, no matter how much I tried it just didn't work. Now I can buy all these gorgeous layering stamps like the one I used on my card from Concord & 9th.

To make my card I used the Original MISTI and the new Creative Corners, these were released at Creativation this year and they are amazing! They allow you to stamp off of your panel at any angle.
Using cold press watercolor paper I randomly stamped the butterfly and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

Next I stamped the butterfly on repositionable labels  and cut them out to mask off the embossed images and and stamped "Happy Birthday" across the panel using Brustus Monroe Raven Ink. The Creative Corners also allowed me to move the panel where I needed to continue to stamp across.

The next step was to remove the masks and watercolor the butterflies using Zig real brush clean color pens.

Peek

Hello and welcome back to Team Tuesday! Today we are headed north to Canada to meet Kia Clapper-Gibson. If you were at Creativation, you met this funny and talented lady, who told us after about three days of us pronouncing her name wrong that you actually pronounce it KAI. We were pronouncing it KEE-YA. We probably started getting it right the day we left! Kia has a wonderful clean and colorful style, and we just love her work and her sweet spirit.

Here she is in her own words.

Hello everyone! I am Kia Gibson-Clapper, (legal name Karen, I am called Kia). I have always enjoyed having hobbies, and cannot imagine my life without one. I sew for my home, and I am a quilter, and in the past, I have sold my wares at craft shows. I became a card maker about 11 years ago, by accident really. I started first with scrapbooking, but was not fond of that so in order to use up my paper I started making cards. I became hooked before long, and to this day I love this art form. Over the years I have tried many techniques and styles. My niche has become Clean and Simple Cards, and there I remain, however I have been known to stray from time to time. To add to my techniques, I started taking watercolour classes 18 months ago, and love using this medium on my cards. I am on a few design teams, that I very much enjoy and also keep me busy along with my blog www.aplaceforkia.blogspot.ca . I feel incredibly lucky to be included with My Sweet Petunia’s Design Team, a group of wonderful ladies I was recently fortunate enough to meet.

Hello everyone. I have a few ways that I use my Misti's to share with you today.
One of the main uses is for stamping. The ability to ink an image as many times as needed has saved much frustration for me.
I inked this image up in my Mini Misti, and set it up for die cutting, which is great for the perfect die cut.
Once I have die cut my image I put it back in the negative to colour, which is what I have done here, using Zig Brushes.
Another handy use is to set up my stencils for inking inside my original Misti. I previously used the round magnets for this, but the new Creative Corners makes this easy.
I used my Clarity Brush to stencil the lattice design on the front of my card.
Once that is done I put my card back in my Mini Misti and line up where I want the sentiment to go. In this case I wanted the sentiment across the lattice line and just under the lattice line.
In this card I stamped a different sentiment in a different place. Once I did the sentiment I styled the teapot slightly and attached on foam dots, then added either sequins or matte sprinkles to finish.
Clearly, I had some fun making these cards. I did orange backgrounds, along with the green and a yellow background, painting each teapot differently.

Products used: Your Next Stamp Love Birds, Zig Brushes, Memory Box Lattice Stencil, Tim Holtz Distress Inks for backgrounds, Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink, Neenah Cardstock, Sequins, Sprinkles.

Surprise So Suzy Stamps Birthday Blog Hop

Surprise!  Happy Birthday Suzy!

I hope you have an AMAZING birthday.  You are such a great friend!

Hello everyone!  Today is my friend Suzy's birthday.  Justine Hovey has pulled off a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop to celebrate Suzy.

So let me tell you about Suzy.  Suzy owns So Suzy Stamps.  I meet her when she emailed me that she was Facebook stalking me.  She heard about the MISTI from one of her customers.  Suzy watched the MISTI video and fell in love with MISTI at first sight.  If you remember the days when I used to make MISTIs and I would post 40 at a time in a flash sale, you can guarantee the Suzy beat you to order.  You can blame Suzy if you ever missed out on a MISTI.  She is the fastest with the mouse at ordering.

The card I made her was using all So Suzy Stamps.  I stamped the Tulip Background with Versamark Ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Next I stamped the Rose Bloom and colored it in with Copic markers.  I trimmed out the piece with a craft knife and ruler.  I fussy cur around the leaf and rose.
If you want to follow the celebration, here are the links to all of the other posts.  Leave a comment on each post to enter the giveaway.  Justine will pick a winner on February 22, 2017.

Team Tuesday Guest Post - Jeanne Streiff

Hi everyone - it's Team Tuesday, and today we are happy to introduce you to our friend Jeanne Streiff.

Jeanne also joined us at Creativation, and we love her mixed media skill, and ability to think outside the box.

Here is Jeanne in her own words - we are happy to have her talent, and crazy chicken lady self on our team.

Hi! My name is Jeanne Streiff I live in the great state of Texas with my husband. We share four grown sons and two absolutely perfect grandchildren. When I’m not crafting or having family time my free time is spent hugging my chickens, ducks, dogs and cats.

I've colored and created art since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I was a stay at home Mom for 20+ years and found my way to Splitcoaststampers.com in 2005. I was asked to be on the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen and have been working as a Designer ever since. I've enjoyed working with some wonderful stamp and art supply companies ever since. My work has been published in assorted magazines and books over the years.

My life is good. I get to spend hours each day creating fun things and working with some of my favorite people. I'm so proud to be a part of the My Sweet Petunia team. The MISTI is truly the best stamping tool ever invented. You can find more of my work at my blog, Inky Paws.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have a number of favorite uses for my MISTI tool. One of the best for me is not only knowing my sentiment will be perfect (even if I don't stamp it right the first time) but that I can stamp as many times as I want on not so easy surfaces like paint and still get a perfect sentiment.

I started by creating my heart background using a stamp from Impression Obsession (Brush Stroke Heart) and Spun Sugar Distress ink and my trusty Mini MISTI.  I added some ink randomly with the ink cube and sponged directly on the stamp to remove any hard ink edges from the pad.

Did you see the trio magnet in the corner? It's one of the magnets in the new My Sweet Petunia Creative Corners set (the set comes with 2 of them!). This is my go to magnet now. It's so great for position and holding down the paper in the MISTIs - it even works great on warpy watercolor paper.

Next I added some Shaded Lilac ink and stamped. Still looking a little rough. That's ok!

My 3rd color is Picked Raspberry. Ink, sponge, stamp...

I kept alternating colors until I got the shades I wanted for the main part of the heart and then sponged just the edges of the stamp first with Spun Sugar and then Picked Raspberry.

Next I decided I wanted to make the heart stand out a little from the pink of the card back so I used some white acrylic paint and painted the lines and then added some teeny lines around the edges to give it an aged wood feel. I thinned he paint with a little water and added some splatters.
Let everything dry before the next step.

I added the sentiment (Impression Obsession Bloomin Love You) with Raven detail ink from Brutus Monroe. It took a few tries (this is what makes the MISTI tools so dang awesome!) but I covered all of the paint perfectly.

I decided this sentiment needed a little flower. I stamped a flower from Daisies & Hearts (Impression Obsession) in Spun Sugar on white cardstock and went old school and cut it out with scissors.
I added a yellow enamel dot center before attaching it to my card.

I hope you enjoyed my project!

Have a great day! Jeanne
