Wrapping up Joy Clair

We have been collaborating all month with Joy Clair and today I am wrapping it up with this card using the Original Misti and the Hugs & Smiles set by Joy Clair.

To create my card I started with a white top folding card base and a piece of watercolor paper cut down with a stitched die. I stamped this images with versa mark ink and then embossed them with white embossing powder. Next I used Daniel Smith watercourse to color the flowers. The greeting is from the Butterfly Kisses set also by Joy Clair.

Thanks for stopping by all month as we collaborated with Joy Clair and Happy Easter!

A Cup of Christmas

It's been fun collaborating with Joy Clair Stamps for the month of March.

Today I combined stamps from Joy Clair's Christmas Coffee & Ugly Sweater Background Builder (I love how the repeated design elements work together).

Remember, leave a comment on all of the posts with the Collaboration Image (below) for a chance to win.

I found with Christmas Coffee, it worked better for me to stamp the outline first and then stamp the inside pattern.

The MISTI makes it easy to line-up your stamps.

I used the Ugly Sweater Builder and my Memory MISTI to stamp the background for my card (yes indeed my Christmas Trees are upside down ... lucky for me, I could just flip the design).

The layout is this week's Match the Sketch.

Smiling Eyes

Hello to everyone!

Kia here with you today to share my card done for the March Collaboration between My Sweet Petunia and Joy Clair Stamps.

I decided to use the beautiful Mardi Gras stamp set for this card, but I wanted to use if for something other than what it was intended for. A very good friend works part-time for The Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver B.C. and this set has me thinking about her and how her eyes light up when she smiles or laughs, so that is where I went.

In my Mini Misti, using Neenah cardstock, I set up the stamps where I wanted them, then stamped the left mask using Melon ink. I then made a mask of just the right side of the stamped left image and stamped the second mask again using the melon ink, making several passes to darken the ink colour. The left mask is an open stamp, and the right mask is a full stamp image, as you can see below, so I sponged on some duckling (yellow) ink using a little make-up brushes. I did have pictures of the process, but they mysteriously disappeared from my phone!
I added the yellow to the feathers using Zig brushes. Once I was finished with all the colouring, I stamped the images again with clear embossing ink and heat set using clear embossing powder. And, as this is about my friend's smiles, I stamped the sentiment using another Joy Clair Stamp called Hugs and Smiles using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. I then stamped again with embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I wanted to add more yellow to the card, so I sponged around the edges of the deckled die using the Duckling yellow ink, then added fun foam to the back of the panel and attached it to a my Coral cardstock base, finishing with a few sequins.

I hope you have enjoyed this card today.

Thank you for visiting My Sweet Petunia.

Wednesday with Joy Clair

Hi everyone!

Happy Wednesday. Ilina here taking over My Sweet Petunia blog today. I know it's not Tuesday, but we do have whole month collaboration with Joy Clair, and we are showcasing projects using both companies products.
Plus if you leave a comment whenever you see this banner you will be entered  to win our prizes: 2 $25 Joy Clair Gift certificates and one MISTI - your choice of original or mini. Winners will be announced in April on both blogs.
For my card today I used the Best Buds set. I stamped the turtles with intense black ink using the MISTI and without removing my paper from the MISTI I colored it using my Chameleon Pens. When done, I stamped over the image using Versafine Clair Nucturne ink and embossed with Ultra fine clear embossing powder. Cut out the image and assembled my card.
Watch the video below to see how this card came to be ;)

Team Tuesday with Giovana

Hello everyone!! Hope you all are having a super and amazing day! And what's better than starting it with a good cup of coffee!! Oh my goodness me, I don't know you, but I HAVE to HAVE a nice, hot fresh brewed cup of coffee every morning, if not my day is not a good one, LOL. Well, I make it a good one but seriously, coffee helps a lot. I remember when I had my gallbladder problem and I was told not to drink coffee, WHAT?!! I didn't like it at all, but I survived and here I am, still getting caffeinated every day.

Anyways, have you heard the news? During the month of March the My Sweet Petunia and Joy Clair teams are going to be showcasing projects using products from both sides, yay!! Plus if you leave a comment whenever you see this banner you will be entered  to win our prizes: 2 $25 Joy Clair Gift certificates and one MISTI - your choice of original or mini. Winners will be announced in April on both blogs.

Let's talk about the project I have for you today. I used this super cool Coffee to go background Stamp and my Original MISTI. I stamped the image on a piece of Watercolor paper in Jet Black Ink, since it is watercolor paper sometimes the first impression is not the best, so your MISTI is the best for this situation, just keep stamping it until it is perfect.
I colored the image with Spectrum Aqua Markers and also added some clear shimmer to all the cups (sadly the picture didn't capture that)
After the image was completely dried, I die-cut the panel and added it to a white card base with foam tape.
Stamped the sentiment from Coffee Lovers Stamp Set on a piece of Clear vellum in Spiced Chai ink, then die-cut the piece with banner dies.
Added some silver thread and then the banner on top.
Finally added few blue sequins.

Hope you like it!
Don't forget to leave a comment for our chance to win!

Have an amazing day!

Team Sunday with Stephanie & Joy Clair

I love Baby Onesies, so when I saw the New Baby! Stamp Set from Joy Clair, I knew I wanted to use it to create for our March Collaboration with Joy Clair ... remember, leave a comment on all of the posts with the Collaboration Image (below) for a chance to win.

Joyclair

I decided to use a piece of Gel Press Print that I created with my MISTI for my Onesie "fabric" ... it's the perfect shade of red for gender neutral designs.

JC1wm

I also used my MISTI to position the sentiments & images to adorn the front of my Onesies ... so many possibilities in this set.

JC2wm

I fussy cut the images and then used a Black Sharpie to make sure the edges were nice and defined ... so stinkin' cute.

JC3wm

I decided to go with some Clean & Simple designs for these cuties.

CTS93wm

I added a blue strip of paper and coordinating blue enamel dots from Eyelet Outlet.

CAS261wm
I love that the set has both a Congratulations & Congrats Sentiment ... and what a fun font.

Team Saturday with Stephanie - Joy Clair

Throughout the month of March, the My Sweet Petunia Design Team will be collaborating with the Joy Clair Design Team to bring you lots of inspiration.

Joyclair

Joy Clair also has a wonderful anything goes Mood Board Challenge ... don't you love these pictures?

Joyclair2

When I saw the Joy Clair Stamp Hugs and Smiles Clear Stamp set, my first thought was ... I wondered if I could use that lovely swirly floral image and my MISTI to create a stamped frame.
JC_CLR-01005_image
After a couple of experiments, I determined that a 5 1/2" square was the perfect size to make this idea into reality.

Joy7wm

I left my stamp in the same place on my MISTI and rotated my paper to create my frame.

Joy8wm

I used two colors of Catherine Pooler ink to ink-up my stamps moving from darker at the corner to the lighter in the center of the square (all of my samples are stamps on Ivory cardstock).

Joy9
Ta Da ... a lovely floral frame.  I used my MISTI to add my sentiment & then added some paper flowers to accent the larger flowers in the stamp.

Joy15wm

Next I tried this lovely Blue Green color combination using the same dual inking process.

Joy10wm

This process was seriously addictive and so easy to create.

Joy17wm

The stamp set includes so many fun sentiments (this one is for my sister ... she makes me laugh until my belly hurts).

I love the contrast of this color combination.

Joy11wm

I love that sweet little jar of hearts.

Joy18wm

For my final card, I used a color combination inspired by the Mood Board (and one that Lydia Fiedler had used on this card).  Pink (Flirty Flamingo) & Green (Lemon Lime Twist) don't seem like they should blend ... but they do.

Joy12wm

You can see how easy it was to position my smaller stamps inside the stamped frame.

Joy13wm

The pink is much brighter photographed in my light box.  I watercolored this Jar of Hearts.

Joy16wm

Here are the four panels all together.

Joy14wm

I hope this tutorial made you look a bit differently at the stamps in your collection with your MISTI (or even better, makes you want to add this versatile Joy Clair Hugs and Smiles Stamp Set to your stash).

For the month of March, make sure you leave comments on the collaborative posts (that have the Collaborative Graphic) on both the My Sweet Petunia Blog and the Joy Clair Blog (and their design team blogs) for a chance to win.
