Team Tuesday - with Anna Wight

Today on the My Sweet Petunia blog, Design Team member Anna Wight is sharing a charming beach-themed card along with one of her favorite cardmaking tips—stamping sentiments directly onto patterned paper and card panels for a clean, polished look without adding extra layers or bulk. Using the Mini MISTI, Anna demonstrates how easy it is to achieve perfectly placed sentiments every time, helping create professional-looking cards while keeping them lightweight and mail-friendly.

Hello everyone! Anna here, with greetings from the beautiful pacific northwest!

To save a little on “extra” postage needed for mailing cards, I like to stamp sentiments directly on the image layer or on background paper to avoid the extra layers and weight that sentiment banners add to my cards. Placing sentiments is so easy to do with a Misti!

Place your pattern paper into the Misti (I use the Mini Misti for this process) and align your sentiment using the grid lines on the cover plate of the Misti. It’s helpful if you know where the other layers of your card will eventually be adhered so you can get the placement of the sentiment “just right”.

When stamping on pattern paper I like to use VersaFine Clair ink. It stamps crisply and dries fast so I can continue assembling my card without having to wait a long time for ink to dry.

The cards I’m sharing today were made using the Beachside clear stamp set from SweetMissDaisy Designs

I love how the Mini Misti allows me to stamp perfectly, every time!

Thanks for joining me on the blog today! Stay healthy and well!

A Focus Friday Two for One - with Jordan Hansen and Deniz Do!

This week we're bringing you a special double dose of inspiration! Our Focus Friday and Team Tuesday posts took a brief detour due to an overseas trip.  We couldn't let you miss the amazing projects created by both Jordan Hansen and Deniz Do, so today we're combining last week's Focus Friday and this week's Team Tuesday into one exciting showcase featuring two talented designers and two completely different creative styles.

Jordan takes us beneath the waves with a stunning ocean-inspired card featuring vibrant colors, layered die cuts, and clever uses for the MISTI, Petunia Platform, Power Mag, and Precision Glue Press. Then Deniz shares a charming interactive balloon card that highlights the precision and versatility of the Petunia Platform, proving just how easy it is to achieve crisp, flawless stamping every time. Whether you love detailed layered designs or clean and simple interactive cards, you'll find plenty of inspiration, techniques, and My Sweet Petunia tips in today's special two-for-one feature!

💮💮💮

Hello! It's Jordan here from Jordan's Easy Entertaining.  I can't believe summer is almost here. I'm going to be spending plenty of time at the beach and I thought the Altenew Graceful Seahorse Stamp and Die set is the perfect way to get in the mood.

I started this card by doing all of my die cutting first.  I used the Spellbinders Nested Postage Labels and Tag set and my Platinum Six machine to cut out a gold glitter frame and white cardstock main panel for my card as well as all of the pieces from the Graceful Seahorse set.  I also cut out an A2 sized piece of patterned paper for the background. Then I ink blended the white cardstock with Altenew Fresh Dye Ink in Pool.

Up next, I added a little depth to the colored cardstock on my seahorse and seaweed pieces.

After all of the ink blending, I used my Mini MISTI to add some more background seaweed using the stamps from the Graceful Seahorse set.

I used my Precision Glue Press to assemble the seahorse and seaweed die cuts

Then back to my Mini MISTI to add a sentiment. I used Spellbinders Clear embossing and watermark ink and gold embossing powder before heat embossing "sending an ocean of thanks."

Then I glued everything down to the card including some flat backed gems and attached the entire panel to a card base.

Last, as I've been doing with all of my cards once they're finished, I used my MISTI LITE and Petunia Platform to stamp "created by Jordan Hansen" on the back with Altenew Obsidian pigment ink.

I love this little seahorse.

I hope you enjoyed today's post and let me send you an ocean of thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

Happy June, friends! Deniz here! Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year?!

For my project today, I’m featuring the cutest balloon from Hero Arts. I absolutely love how festive, fun, and versatile it is. So perfect for birthdays, celebrations, and all kinds of happy occasions!

I created a little interactive flip card by doing a partial die cut with the larger balloon die, then added the outline layer for that extra detail. I love that the same die set can also be used to create a shaker card, so there are so many possibilities!

My My Sweet Petunia Platform really came in handy for this project. As you can see, when I first stamped the “make a wish” sentiment, I didn’t get a perfect impression — but just like with the MISTI, the platform makes it so easy to stamp again in the exact same spot. Such a helpful tool for getting a crisp, clean result!

I hope you like this clean and simple interactive design!
