Team Tuesday - with Kassi Hulet

Hello friends, and happy spring!

Ok, so spring tends to come a bit late where I live, but I like to imagine the raccoons and bunnies that live in my yard are sneaking out to do dances welcoming the spring early in the mornings, and that can give me hope that warmer weather really is coming!

I started this card using one of my favorite techniques for overcoming the “fear of the blank page”- taping it down to the Platform and just played with paint and water… I never know what exactly will come out of the play. This is a no pressure, no expectation, no perfectionism exercise that I have come to really appreciate!

I absolutely adore this sweet raccoon from Pink Ink Designs (Macaroon Racoon)! He makes me smile every time I see him! He is a bit too big for the MISTI Lite to handle, so I did have to move my paper over to my MISIT to give him some room.

I stamped him using Inkon3 Fadeout ink, and this is where the MISTI really shines- because I always end up needing to stamp the image 2-4 times because of the texture of the watercolor paper, and the fact that I keep my ink pad a bit on the dry side, so the ink is lighter. The MISTI lets me build up my ink slowly so I can get the lines JUST dark enough to see but still super light.

Back to the Platform! I like to keep the edges all taped down when I’m painting so my paper stays nice and flat. I used a variety of watercolors from Rockwell, Dusty Bee, and Daniel Smith. (Yes, you can mix and match your watercolors! Grab the colors that you love and don’t worry about what brand they are!)

I’ve started to really appreciate the ease of adding in a sentiment using the MISTI Lite while my paper is still taped to the Petunia Platform! This sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Ruffled Blooms.

I finished out my card by matting my raccoon on some coral paper (that I’ve had in my stash for a while…) before adding it to the card front. Nothing too fancy, but that also means it should go through the mail without any extra hassle.

I hope you all have a day as happy as this raccoon!

Sweet Springtime Smiles with Ceal

Creating a Cheerful Bunny & Bloom Card

Spring is in the air, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this sweet and cheerful design from our talented team member, Ceal! Bursting with fresh blooms, soft pastel hues, and the cutest little bunnies, this card captures all the joy and renewal that makes this season so special. Whether you’re creating for Easter or simply celebrating the beauty of spring, this project is sure to inspire you to bring a little sunshine to your crafting. πŸŒΈπŸ°πŸ’™

Hello everybody,

It’s Ceal, here. With Easter coming up, I am sharing a card that could be an Easter card but not necessarily.

To create this card, I started with placing a white panel inside the Original Misti and stamping the flowers and the bunnies. Next, I placed that panel on a Sticky Mat and using the coordinating stencil I colored the images and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I placed a light blue panel inside the MISTI and then stamped the greeting on it a quarter of the way from the top. To finish the card, I added some splatter and then placed my die cut pieces coming up from the bottom of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this cute card!  Here is a listing of My Sweet Petunia products I used:

Focus Friday - with Anna Wight

Hello everyone! Anna here, with greetings from the pacific northwest!

The tags I’m sharing today were made using the Hoppin’ By clear stamp set from SweetMissDaisy Designs. The tags showcase several images from the Hoppin’ By set, all stamped perfectly using a Mini Misti

These tags are perfect for attaching to gifts or even Spring and Easter baskets to celebrate the season.

I used the Mini Misti to stamp the main focal image for each tag several times on watercolor paper to ensure a great impression on the textured paper. Sentiments were also stamped several times on watercolor paper. Again, I used the Mini Misti to ensure a perfect sentiment for each tag.

I painted each image with watercolor paints and added additional details to the painted images using colored pencils. This is such a fun and easy way to create perfectly colored images for projects.

I love how the Mini Misti allows me to stamp perfectly, every time! On card panels or on smaller sentiment banners, I can stamp with precision every time, giving me the perfect placement and impression for every project.  Sentiments are stamped perfectly placed, and stamped images on watercolor paper (or other textured papers) are a breeze to create!

Thanks for joining me on the blog today! Stay healthy and well!

Thanks! -Anna.

You can find the Mini MISTI, that Anna uses in her tutorial, on the My Sweet Petunia website!

Team Tuesday - with Deniz Do

March is finally starting to hint at spring, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the creativity blooming right along with it! Today we’re thrilled to share a fun and inspiring project from Deniz Do, who has found a clever way to bring the My Sweet Petunia platform into her journaling routine. Deniz shows us how the Petunia Platform becomes the perfect steady workspace for ink swatching and journaling with wet inks. It’s one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” ideas we absolutely love!

By using the platform and magnets to hold her journal firmly in place, Deniz turns swatching into a smooth, frustration-free experience. No sliding pages, no shifting notebooks—just pure creative play with beautiful inks and tools. If you love fountain pens, journals, or simply exploring new ways to use your My Sweet Petunia tools, this project is sure to spark some inspiration. Take it away, Deniz!

March is finally bringing a bit of warmth around here and I am here for it!

Today I’m sharing one of my favourite ways to use my My Sweet Petunia Platform and magnets. It’s been a total game changer for journaling with wet inks and ink swatching. No more chasing my journal around the desk while I’m trying to create — everything stays perfectly in place.

For this little spread I pulled out my Archer & Olive journal, my new Wearingeul glass pen, and some fun ink samples from Goulet Pens. There’s something so satisfying about swatching inks and seeing all the colours come to life on the page.

Tell me, how are you using your platform lately? - Deniz

Team Tuesday - with Jordan Hansen

Step into a little paper magic with today’s project from design team member, Jordan Hansen of Jordan’s Easy Entertaining! In this post, Jordan walks us through the creation of a whimsical, nature-inspired shaker card that’s full of texture, sparkle, and charming details. Using the Hero Arts Tranquil Terrarium Card Kit along with some of her favorite My Sweet Petunia tools and techniques, she transforms ink, cardstock, and embellishments into a dreamy “glass-like” terrarium scene that truly comes to life when shaken. If you love interactive cards, beautiful coloring, and thoughtful finishing touches, you’re going to be completely enchanted by this one.

Hi, it's Jordan here from Jordan's Easy Entertaining. Today I'm sharing with you a super fun and whimsical shaker card with you.

To make this card, I used the stamps and coordinating dies from the Hero Arts Tranquil Terrarium Card Kit of the Month. First, I started by stamping the large image using Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink in my Mini MISTI.

I used alcohol markers to color the image and then cut out the design with the coordinating die in my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine.

I wanted the background of my card to look glasslike, so I purposely did very splotchy ink blending with Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Pool.

Next, I cut a brown panel of cardstock to an A2 size and used the terrarium shaped die from the set to cut out a window.

I ran that same panel through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 using a woodgrain embossing folder to add some fun texture.

Then I used my Precision Glue Press (my FAVORITE tool in my craftroom) to add acetate to the back of that window panel.

I glued my colored image to the ink blended panel and then added foam tape around the edge to create the base for my shaker card.  Then I added some small beads and chunky glitter.

I also stamped my sentiment with clear embossing ink in my Mini MISTI before heat embossing with a gold embossing powder and cutting it out with the coordinating die.

I put my card together and added the sentiment straight onto the window, but I felt like this card was missing something......

I stamped, colored and cut out a few more elements to add to my card.

Final step was using my MISTI Lite and Petunia Platform to stamp a sentiment on the inside of my card as well.

Thank you so much for joining me for today's card tutorial, and if you want to see this magical shaker card in action, pop on over to my Instagram.  Hope you have a great day and take care!
