Ocean Waves with Karen Reategui

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing this ocean themed slimline card where I am featuring products from Picket Fence Studios: Slim Line Ocean Waves Cover Plate Die, A Fishy Lot Stamp Set, You Were Mermaid for Me Stamp Set and a combination of Paper Glaze Ombre Polar Ice Layers and Paper Glitz.

Let's begin! I started by applying a mix of Paper Glitz and Paper Glaze Ombre Polar Ice Layers to a piece of white cardstock using a stencil pad from Thermo Web. I let the Paper Glaze dry for about 20 minutes and once it was dry I placed the Slim Line Ocean Waves Cover Plate Die on top and run this through my die cutting machine.

Additionally, I die cut a slimline base out of white cardstock using the Slim Line Die Cutting System and applied Catherine Pooler inks: Aquatine, Something Borrowed and Juniper Mist. I applied these inks using the Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence Studios.

I glued the Ocean Waves die cut on top of the ink blended background and then I adhered a white slimline folded note card using more glue.

On the picture above you can have a closer look of the sparkle from the mix of Paper Glitz and Paper Glaze.

Also, I stamped a mermaid and some sea creatures from A Fishy Lot Stamp Set. Then, I colored the images with Copic markers and die cut them using the coordinating dies.

Finally, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto velum using WOW! Embossing Glitter Cupcake Heaven and placed all die cuts on top of my background along with some sequins.

I hope you like this slimline card and have a wonderful day. Your friend,

Karen

Bees, Cosmos and a Butterfly

Hi,

This is Susan on the blog today. I needed to make a very special birthday card for a dear young woman. She is expecting her fourth child so I needed to knock this out of the park. The pink butterfly represents their daughter and the 3 bees are their sons. The third bee, who is not quite here yet, is just tucked under the large "mama" flower. As you can see on the detail shot, I used a lot of 3M Foam tape.

I got out my standard sized MISTI and stamped out WPlus9 Designs Flora and Fauna 3 onto Arches 140 lb cold pressed water color paper. The MISTI is great for water color paper as I often have to stamp 3 times to get the image fully stamped. The MISTI keeps everything lined up until I am done with the stamping. I wanted a no-line look so I used InkOn3 Fade Out ink. I think used my water color palette to color everything in. Most of my paints are by Daniel Smith. The flower color is mostly Quinacridone Coral.

After I finished all the painting, I used the accompanying dies to die cut all the images out. I stamped the sentiments using my MISTI. I think I used WPlus9 Designs Old Silver for both. I did use the shadow die cut three times for the with love sentiment. I also die cut the WPlus9 Designs Lattice Frame die for the back ground. I mounted everything with 3M Foam tape and added droplets using Gina K Connect Glue.

Birthday Balloons with the MISTI

Hello everyone!  Today, I am having fun with a balloon set!
I use my MISTIs with every project but there are times when it's absolutely invaluable such as stamping with large solid stamps.  I stamped Sweet Petunia Pink Ink on a piece of cardstock but didn't like the results so I wiped the stamp.  Then on a new piece of water-friendly cardstock, I stamped the balloons in Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers.  I was delighted to find that the stamp held onto some of the Sweet Petunia Pink ink!  Since I used the Mini MISTI, I repeatedly stamped the balloon, adding ink and water until I was satisfied with the look. I switched to the Original MISTI and added the balloon strings then back to the Mini for the sentiment!   I love it when I can rescue my mistakes so that is what I did with the bright pink balloon.   I die-cut two banners from the original balloon and added them to this card.

Sending Love

Hey Y'all!
It' Ceal, here. For today's edition of Team Tuesday I am sharing a mini slim card using a Simon Says Stamp set, Spring Bouquets.

To create this card I placed the stamp in the Original Misti and stamped the image with a black hybrid ink, then colored it using alcohol markers.  I left the stamp in the Misti so when I was done coloring I could overstamp it with embossing ink.
When using alcohol markers you do not want to emboss first because when you color it will mess up the nib of your marker. This is another reason to have a Misti stamping tool, I don't know what I would do without it.

Supplies are pictured below along with affiliate links with no additional cost to you but a small commission for me. thank you for your support!

My Sweet Petunia Slimline Card

Hey crafty friends, Sandi MacIver here and today I have something super fun to share with you, a My Sweet Petunia Slimline Card.

So, a week ago, I was supposed to be in a blog/IG hop with Ink on 3 and My Sweet Petunia (Misti) - but the products didn't arrive in time.

They finally arrived, and I had a nice quiet morning yesterday so I made a big pot of coffee and sat down to play.

I decided to turn on the video camera because this Ink On 3, My Sweet Petunia - 3 layer Stencil rocked my world.

Mind Blowing Triple Layer Stencil slimline card created with the My Sweet Petunia 3 layer stencil from Ink on 3 As you can see from the photo there is also a similar stamp set.

The stamped image actually points the other direction from the stencil, so you can't use it as an outline stamp over the stenciled image.

I used the Misti to stamp two of the sentiments on the top right corner of my Slimline Card so I could then stencil around it.

The Mind Blowing Triple Layer Stencil:

There are three stencils in the My Sweet Petunia 3 Layer Stencil.

The first does the solid image background.

I used the Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Brushes to add the ink in a circular motion.

Next, add the second stencil and the same color ink, I'm using Sweet Petunia Pink Fusion Ink from Ink on 3 (I need more colors, this ink rocks).

The second layer provides a darker pink and the stencil adds all the highlights and depth to the florals.

Finally, overlay the third stencil and it provides the greenery.  I used Gina K Designs Key Lime Ink for this step.  It was raining and I wanted bright happy colors, haha.

Now you know why I call it the Mind Blowing Triple Layer Stencil.  It's so easy to use and it creates beautiful results each time.  I can't wait to try it in purple, LOL

How to create the Slimline Card

First I used the Picket Fence Studios Slimline Nested Rectangles Dies to die cut my card front.  I LOVE the finished edge and the pretty stitched border, it adds quiet interest to my cards.

Next, stencil the images and use the Misti to stamp the sentiments Then, use the Picket Fence Studios Slimline Scallop Frames Dies to create a pretty scalloped layer in Key Lime behind the card front.

Finally, cut down a piece of Hammermill 100# white to 8 x 9 inches.

Score on the 8 inch side at 4 inches to create the card base.

Here's the Mind Blowing Triple Layer Stencil card making video so you can see just how slick this 3 layer stencil is.

Here is a list of supplies I used in today's card.  Affiliate links are used where possible meaning I receive a small commission when you click and purchase from the links.

Thanks so much for stopping in today and hope you find time to stamp a little today.

Just For You Multiples with the MISTI

Hello! Angie here with a fun project creating multiples.  Today, I am featuring cards made with previously created re-inker backgrounds.

First, I like to adhere the background to the base of the card.  The Cut-Align rulers make alignment a breeze.  I line up a horizontal line on the ruler with the base of the card, making certain that the 0 on the ruler is at the center of the base card.  For this card, the base is 2 1/8 from 0 center.  It's easy to adhere the inky layer to the base perfectly centered.

I stamped the balloon from IO's Celebrate Everything several times on the inky watercolor paper.  A MISTI is a must because it took about 5 times of stamping to get total coverage on the rough paper.  For the stamping of the balloon, I used my MINI MISTI, and then for the balloon string, I used the New Original MISTI.  In that way, I had a bit of an assembly line going.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment, also from IO.

Thanks for looking and happy stamping!
