Kia here with you today to share my Flirty Flamingo card.
Well, first off I thought I was filming this, but as it turns out I had my camera on photo not video. I was unimpressed with myself!
I wanted to do a background that was a bit different for my Flamingo girl. As I had not used my Infusions from Paper Artsy for awhile, I opted to use them for my backgrounds.
Using Arches 140lb. Cold Press watercolour paper I started with a large piece of paper, along with Emerald Isle, Frankly Scarlet and Lemoncello. I first spritzed my watercolour paper with water, sprinkled on the colours, then added more spritzes. Where it gets too dark and has too much water I take a dry paint brush and remove the water, doing the same process for the yellow piece and I also added Daniel Smith Cadmium Yellow to this piece to brighten it a bit.
I wanted to make a bit of a design in the corners of my card and decided on a lattice design. Using my Cut-Align large ruler I cut the strips using the centre cut line and squares at 3/8".
As I arranged the lattice on my card base, I placed something heavy on the completed areas until I started to glue the pieces in place. I did 3 overlaps along the sides and two along the top and bottom.
To differentiate the side panels more I went down the sides of the middle piece using my Nuvo Aqua Flow Pen in Apple Red.
In my Misti I stamped the Flamingo with the metallic copper ink, heat embossing with Copper Embossing Powder. I attached the piece to my card base using fun foam, then added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops.
To finish my card up I painted the Flamingo with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in Midas Touch.
